Mid - Week Update!

What an incredible past few days! We are so proud of the way students have boldly proclaimed the Gospel and shared how the Lord is moving in their lives. Students are stepping outside of their comfort zones and they are seeing the fruit of the Good News in tangible ways. It has been so beautiful to see your students be the hands and feet of Jesus this week.

One special story from the day:

We had to pivot on one of our ministry sites — they were not ready for us! Our students were flexible and had great attitudes. We had to go to a new orphanage and we weren’t sure there would be enough to do. Our students were prepared to put on a small program, but they were blown away by what happened next. They met an amazing woman who runs the orphanage and she told our students that her kids wanted to put on a performance for THEM! It was truly a holy moment — her kids sang praises to Jesus, told Bible stories, and danced with some of our students. We thought we were going to bless the workers and the kids in the orphanage, but instead, they blessed us. God is truly a God of great love for all peoples.

Last night, Logan challenged us to think about the cross of Christ. He reminded us that “A heart that comes in pride and power before God, He will reject. But a heart that comes in sorrow and submission before God, He will accept.”

And you were dead in your trespasses and sins in which you previously walked according to the ways of this world, according to the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit now working in the disobedient. We too all previously lived among them in our fleshly desires, carrying out the inclinations of our flesh and thoughts, and we were by nature children under wrath as the others were also. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of his great love that he had for us, made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace!
— Ephesians 2:1-5

Keep praying for our students and the people of the DR. The Spirit is working in hearts and minds!
